Innsbruck is the closest airport to St. Anton — a private transfer door-to-door takes roughly 1 hour 15 minutes down the Inn valley. As a local driver since 1998 I meet you at arrivals and drive you straight to your hotel, skis and boards free on the rack. The route

From Innsbruck Airport the route joins the A12 Inntal autobahn heading west, past Telfs and Imst, then Landeck, before turning up toward the Arlberg on the S16 to St. Anton. It is the flattest and fastest of the main approaches — roughly 98 km, usually a little over an hour.

Winter conditions on the Arlberg

The Inn valley autobahn is generally well cleared, but the final stretch toward St. Anton can be snowy and the S16 demands winter tyres and chains in bad weather. My 4x4 vehicles are equipped for exactly this, and after 27 years I know when the valley is fine but the Arlberg is not.

Private transfer vs. shared shuttle

Shared shuttles and the train involve changes and fixed times. A private transfer from Innsbruck is direct, door-to-door, on your schedule, with ski equipment included — ideal after a long-haul connection through Innsbruck.

St. Anton am Arlberg — Mini-guide

St. Anton am Arlberg is the eastern gateway to Ski Arlberg, 300+ km of linked pistes shared with Lech and Zürs. Expect steep, snow-sure terrain and the biggest après-ski in the Alps — Mooserwirt, Krazy Kanguruh, Hazienda. The village centre is compact around the Galzig and Rendl lifts, so a door-to-door drop at your hotel saves the last cold walk with your bags.
