St. Christoph am Arlberg: The Village We Drive To
St. Christoph is the highest of the Arlberg villages at 1,800 metres, and the only one that sits on the pass itself rather than in a valley below it. It is a handful of houses on the pass road, seven kilometres above St. Anton, with the snow arriving first in the autumn and staying longest in the spring.
That is pleasant in February. It is also the reason a transfer out of St. Christoph begins with a descent of six hundred metres before the motorway is anywhere in sight — and why the journey time from here is not the journey time from Stuben, even though the two villages are twenty minutes apart.

The 60 minutes of waiting
The clock starts at the actual landing, not the scheduled one. Inside Schengen it is typically 15 to 25 minutes from touchdown to the arrivals hall, from outside it takes longer because passport control is added — both run inside that hour. If the flight itself is delayed, the pickup moves with it in full and the hour starts again.
Changes and cancellation
You can change or cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the pickup. If the flight changes earlier than that — and in winter it sometimes does — just send us the new number; it does not create a new price as long as it is the same journey.
Paying
By card or in cash, before or after the journey. Nothing is taken when you book, and there is no card fee that appears at the end.
Six Hundred Metres of Descent Before the Valley
Every transfer to St. Christoph ends on the pass road, and every transfer out of it begins there. The village has no bypass and no tunnel of its own: the Arlberg road tunnel runs underneath the mountain between St. Anton and Langen, and its portals are both below you.
From the east — Innsbruck and Munich
Up the Inn valley to Landeck, onto the S16 and into the Stanzertal. At the exit for St. Anton and the Arlbergpass the route leaves the S16 before the Arlberg road tunnel — which is not used — and climbs seven kilometres of pass road to the village. No border and no tunnel toll.
From the west — Zurich, Altenrhein, Friedrichshafen, Memmingen
Up the Rhine valley to Bludenz and along the Klostertal to Langen, then up past Stuben and the hairpins to the fork at Alpe Rauz, and east along the pass road to St. Christoph. The tolled tunnel is not used in this direction either: its eastern portal is on the wrong side of you, seven kilometres down at St. Anton.
What the altitude does to the timing
At 1,800 metres the snow arrives first and stays longest, so the first stretch out is the one that moves the pickup time. The descent to Alpe Rauz and the hairpins below it are cleared before the lifts turn, which is earlier than most guests expect and exactly what an early flight needs. Six hundred metres of descent is the part of this journey that no distance figure shows.
Where in St. Christoph We Drop You
St. Christoph is a handful of houses on the pass road, so there is nothing between the car and your door but the width of the pavement. The hotels sit in a line along the road; the driver pulls up at the entrance, unloads, and that is the whole of it.
No drop-off point, because there is nowhere for one
There is no restricted zone here and no shuttle from a car park. In a village of this size a transfer that stopped anywhere other than your entrance would be stopping for no reason at all.
Leaving: the first kilometre is already the descent
On a departure morning there is no warm-up. The car pulls away and the road starts going down immediately, which is why the pickup time from St. Christoph is worked out from the pass rather than from the distance.

Skis and snowboards
Skis and boards travel outside, on a rack fitted to the rear door, and they cost nothing extra. That is why a group of eight with equipment travels as one vehicle rather than two — and nobody spends two hours with a ski bag across their knees.
Cases and passengers are two questions
Eight seats do not automatically mean eight large cases plus eight ski bags. Tell us both when you book and the vehicle that fits both is the one that comes. There is no luggage surcharge.
Child seats
Child and booster seats are free and already fitted when we collect you — just tell us the ages. There is no need to fly with your own seats for the sake of the drive from the airport.
Families and Groups Arriving in St. Christoph
A private transfer is a vehicle reserved for your group and nobody else. There are no other passengers to collect and no stops that are not yours — the drive runs from the arrivals hall to the door of where you are staying in St. Christoph. Reaching St. Christoph Without Flying
There is no station on the pass. The nearest platforms are St. Anton am Arlberg, seven kilometres down the eastern side, and Langen am Arlberg on the western one — which means a road journey before the train in either direction, and a choice about which side of the mountain to come off.
On a clear day in April that is an interesting decision. At six on a January morning it is one more thing to get wrong.
Whichever side you choose, we drive that part: tell us the station your ticket needs and we take you to the platform.

The return transfer is the same road in the other direction, but the question changes: arriving, you get there when you get there; leaving, a flight decides when your day starts. So we work the pickup time backwards from your departure and ring the day before to set it.
